Ces tableaux se trouvent dans des \u00e9glises, des mus\u00e9es ou des palais. Dans ce premier article je vous fait d\u00e9couvrir les tableaux du Caravage dans les \u00e9glises de Rome.<\/p>\n<h3>Eglise Saint-Louis-des-Francais ( San Luigi dei Francesi )<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ce sont trois toiles repr\u00e9sentant l\u2019histoire de Saint Mathieu et elles furent r\u00e9alis\u00e9es pour la chapelle du Cardinal Mathieu Cointrel. Elles constituent la premi\u00e8re commande\u00a0 public pour le jeune Caravage.\u00a0<strong>La Vocation<\/strong>\u00a0et le\u00a0<strong>Martyre de Saint Mathieu<\/strong>\u00a0furent les deux premi\u00e8res toiles a \u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9es, elles\u00a0 seront accroch\u00e9es dans la chapelle en d\u00e9cembre 1600. M\u00eame si la date d\u2019ex\u00e9cution du tableau n\u2019est pas connu, on sait que le premier projet fut refus\u00e9 le 2 Mars 1606 date \u00e0 laquelle le tableau fut donn\u00e9 a Scipione Borghese par les Augustins . (le tableau est toujours visible dans la galerie Borghese).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le Caravage r\u00e9alisera donc une autre composition en rapport\u00a0 avec r\u00e8gles de la commission et sur celle ci on pourra reconnaitre quelques d\u00e9tails\u00a0 qui\u00a0 permettront d\u2019identifier l\u2019\u00e9difice comme maison di Loretto\u00a0 Sur le seuil de la maison se r\u00e9v\u00e8le la vierge avec J\u00e9sus, laquelle est accueillie par deux p\u00e8lerins agenouill\u00e9s surpris de cette apparition\u00a0 surnaturel de la vierge et qui est\u00a0 m\u00eame temps est totalement remplie d\u2019 humanit\u00e9 et de gr\u00e2ce.<br \/>\nLa condition d\u2019humilit\u00e9 des deux p\u00e8lerins est mise en \u00e9vidence en particulier avec la salet\u00e9 des pieds. La g\u00e9nuflexion devant la marche devait \u00e9voquer la pratique religieuse des p\u00e8lerins qui\u00a0 rendaient\u00a0 \u00e0 Loreto. Les deux premiers tableaux furent ex\u00e9cut\u00e9s sur bois de cypr\u00e8s et furent chang\u00e9s imm\u00e9diatement . Le premier tableau la conversion de Saint Paul se trouve actuellement \u00e0 Rome\u00a0 dans la collection priv\u00e9e\u00a0 Odeschali. Les deux tableaux sont chang\u00e9s par deux toiles de m\u00eame sujet et seront plac\u00e9e dans la chapelle en Mai 1605 \u00e0 la fin des travaux.<br \/>\nDiverses raisons semblent exister sur le changement de ces deux toiles la premi\u00e8re pourrait \u00eatre due aux paroles de Baglione qui aurait dit que les tableaux\u00a0 \u00ab\u00a0ne plairont pas aux maitres \u00ab\u00a0, ou bien des raisons\u00a0 d\u2019ordre technique ou encore l\u2019hypoth\u00e8se d\u2019un nouveau contrat.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">La conversion de Saint Paul<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Caravage choisi de repr\u00e9senter l\u2019\u00e9pisode de la chute de Saint Paul au moment\u00a0 ou le juif Saulo tombe sur la route de Damas et est illumin\u00e9 de la lumi\u00e8re divine . Le protagoniste est a terre \u00e9tourdi pendant que l\u2019homme qui\u00a0 derri\u00e8re donnant\u00a0 a boire au cheval domine la sc\u00e8ne.
